Big Creek Landing Campground is at the northern end of Wright Patman Lake close to the towns of Maud and Redwater. There are almost 30 campsites in the campground, and all have electrical and water hookups. Six of the sites are pull-thru for easy access, and the maximum length rental RV allowed is 50 feet.
Except for the convenience of water and electric connections, this is a basic site, with only vault toilets, no showers, and few facilities. Campsites are all under the shade of trees, so perfect for those hot summer days. There is a boat ramp, swimming area, and plenty of recreational opportunities such as hiking and mountain biking. The park would like you to know that fireworks, portable generators and metal detectors are prohibited. Open carry of firearms may be prohibited in designated areas of each park. One camping unit allowed per camp pad. With manager’s approval, a second unit can be added for a $17 fee per night. Minimum age to make a reservation is 21 years. Fires are restricted to designated areas and should not be left unattended.

For the cost, this is a great park. Showers have unending hot water. Plenty of fish in the pond. The noise from the highway is dampened by the hills leading up to the park. Propane is inexpensive and is filled on-site. Their shop has emergency items that guests may have forgotten.
