Old Town and restaurants are within walking distance, while ESPNs Wide World of Sports, Walt Disney World, and Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores are within a 10-minute drive of the property, and SeaWorld is a 15-minute drive away. Orlando International Airport is about a 25-minute drive away.

Our RV campground has a very large resort style swimming pool and hot tub that will relieve you from all stresses. Trying to stay fit….try out our fitness center. We have championship style shuffleboard and pickle ball courts. Even your pets will have a ball at our pet park!

Were more than a marvelous RV park in South Texas with close camping in South Padre Island thatll knock your socks off. Whether or not youre a guest at our amazing Brownsville, TX RV park, we happily will rent our beautiful amenity center for your special event. Our robust kitchen and spaciouls fellowship room that comfortably seats 100 will ensure our guests have all the indoor space they want. We are pet friendly, so bring your best friend with you and let him/her explore our dog park.
Resort Amenities & Activities
Despite our dissatisfaction, there are reasons to consider this campground. Most important to us is that Tropical Palms Carefree RV Resort is conveniently positioned near the most magical place on Earth, Walt Disney World. The drive is quick, about 3 miles North of the resort, but we recommend utilizing the Lynx city bus system to save a ton of cash on parking. It makes a stop every 30 minutes about a quarter mile from the resort office and drops you off in front of the Disney Transportation and Ticket Center. Easy and cheap. The resort offers its own free transportation, but after having been abandoned at Epcot , we decided not to waste our time and safety ever again.
For those travelers looking to avoid Disney, theres an amusement park and shopping center a very short walk from the campground called Old Town USA. We steered clear of the amusement park instead opting to enjoy the weekly classic car shows and cruises. Theres a fantastic magic shop and haunted house located here, but the real gem is quite literally a gem shop. You have to check out Black Market Minerals!

There are a wealth of things to explore through local attractions and culture that are close to our resort in the Rio Grande Valley. Tropical Trails is conveniently located minutes away from tons of engaging Brownsville happenings such as local shopping, dining, museums, and historical sites, including the renowned SpaceX South Texas Launch Site! If you love the great outdoors, there are numerous hiking and biking tropical trails through wildlife preserves, bird-watching sanctuaries, fishing spots youll get hooked on. We are also located very near the deepwater Port of Brownsville and of course just a very short 20 minute drive to beautiful South Padre Island.
Once youre wiped out from your many daily adventures, including accessible day trips to Progreso, Mexico, our RV resort near South Padre Island will be there to help you relax.
Acalm Environment With Tiki
The relaxed atmosphere at the Tropical Palms Resort and Campground filters into the lobby, which is done in tiki-style, with big leaf-shaped ceiling fans, wicker chairs with red-striped pillows, and a brown leather couch. Grass curtains on the windows and thatched roofing over the doors add to the island theme, and tea and coffee is available too. The property spans 67 acres of well-landscaped grounds, and there is a small lake with a deck. There’s plenty of bench seating, covered by green or white umbrellas with string lights.

Full Kitchens Wood Floors And Outdoor Seating
Three different cottage styles are available, with varying pastel exteriors. All come with sofa beds, flat-screen TVs, and coffeemakers. Some units have fully equipped kitchens with white appliances and tan laminate countertops. Recessed lighting helps to brighten the interior, while the exterior includes decks with white plastic seating. Bathrooms have the same tan laminate countertops as the kitchens, in addition to wood paneling and flooring. All bathrooms have Beach Mist toiletries. Some have only showers, while others include shower/tub combos. Some of the cottages have a tired decor, with green comforters and pinkish wallpaper, dated couches and floral armchairs. Some of the lamps have plastic over the shades, and some rooms are small.
This property also has RV sites with picnic tables and full hookups , but not all spots have a sewer option.
